Cacao Ceremony

  • Yoga Shala Arden 4397 Arden Way Sacramento, CA, 95864 United States (map)

with Christina Gross

Gather on this sacred Dia De Los Muertos (day of the dead) for a heart opening ceremony. Receive the wisdom and energy of Cacao while sharing a unique experience that is both personal and communal.

Cacao is a long-revered plant medicine that is believed to have come from the spirit world as a gift to humans. Although it can be processed in many ways, the purest form is used as a ceremonial drink.

This warm, deep and earthy beverage stimulates both the body and spirit and opens a flow for a powerful connection to the heart.

The Day of the Dead is celebrated across Latin America as a way to honor and connect with ancestors and loved ones. It occurs just as the days are shortening and the nights get longer- reminding us that we can equally embrace light and dark, life and death, celebration and sorrow.

Held in this hallowed time, this ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to connect to ancestors, self and the community.

  • This ceremony will include traditional cacao, gentle movement, music and guided meditation.

  • Bring water, yoga mat, comfortable clothes. If inspired, bring a photo of someone who has passed.

  • All supplies are included but feel free to bring a favorite mug.
