Summer Immersion Series
An Immersion into the Quieter Styles of Yoga Practice
With the rising temperatures and longer days of summer, we can get caught up in the ‘yang’ of the season - getting more done, and doing more in a frantic, frenzied way. As the heat of the season climbs, Pitta, the fire element, is aggravated in our bodies and in the universe - showing up as impatience, irritability, competitiveness, hyperactivity, GI disturbances, hot flashes, skin irritations, excessive sweating, hypertension, inflammation.
Learn to calm and cool the burning effects of this fiery season on our nervous systems through the quieter styles of yoga: Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and the meditative practice of Yoga Nidra. Learn about the principles that guide their cooling qualities. These practices feature long-held postures, offering the gift of time to quiet agitation, to observe and reset, and to balance the activity of summer days.
