“You can’t stop the waves but you can learn to surf.” - Jon Kabat-Zinn

Life has its ups and downs. We all experience this: stuff happens, and, like waves, our emotions fluctuate, bringing interesting and sometimes dramatic experiences to our consciousness. Often these emotions are accompanied by certain physiological changes, such as an increased heart rate or respiration, and sometimes overt expressions, such as crying or shaking.

In this series we explore how yoga and mindfulness offers us some simple tools to help us with crankiness, nervousness and anxiety, when we need a lift in our mood, have a difficult time sleeping, or are in pain. Each session you will learn practices for our bodies and our breath that gradually unravel the physiological demands during these highs and lows, bringing us back to a state of balance. Take these practices home, and be better able to navigate the ever-changing waves of our human experience.

Includes discussion, practices, handouts, and guided audio recordings.

All levels welcome, no yoga experience necessary.
