FIRST TIME TO THE SHALA?

Heat Update: The room will be heated to 78-80 degrees each class to ensure warmth of the room in comparison to outside. This is not "hot yoga" in any way, but sweating is healthy, and warmth does help to stretch & open up the body.

The first time you come to take a class, it is recommended that you show up 10-15 minutes early to fill out our waiver of liability and to get acquainted with the studio. Every time you come into take a class, please sign in before the start of class. There is one bathroom, which you are welcome to change your clothes in, located in the back of the room by the sign in desk, as well as cubbies to store your belongings.

We have a filtered water dispenser. Please support the environment and bring your own water container. It is recommended that you bring your own yoga mat to class. However we do have yoga mats available to rent for $1! We also have towels available for rent for $1 and spray bottles with natural mat cleaner, to use after class to clean off your mat. There are blankets and other cushions available for you should you want extra support, along with yoga straps and blocks.

Come on in and grab what you need or ask your teacher if you aren't sure. If you are new to yoga, please let the teacher know. We are not a "hot" yoga studio, however we definitely warm up the place with our more active yoga practices.

All of our classes have beginner and advanced students practicing together.

NEW TO YOGA?

At Yoga Shala we have several forms of yoga to meet your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs! Not sure which is right for you? Drop in to a class and try it! Experience for yourself what it's all about, or contact us and we would be happy to discuss what class might be a good match for you! Practice one form or practice them all - they are a great compliment to each other!

Just know that yoga is all about YOUR body's needs. Come to class, do the best you can and honor your body when you need to by stopping to rest or asking for help from your teacher. Remember that yoga is a practice, so just start where you are and your practice will transform in time. If you have any specific limitations or injuries, it's always a good idea to let your teacher know before hand, and feel free to talk with your teacher after class if any questions or concerns arise.

Namaste. (The light within me bows to the light within you.)
